Had a bad breakup with my ex...

Had to sell my house...

My beautiful cousin had unexpectedly passed away... (miss you ❤️)

I had to move in with my grandparents (lifesavers 🙏🏼)

All this, while working an accounting job that was depressing the hell out of me.

I hated my job, hated my life, and hated where things looked to be heading.

I needed something to change.

I sat there on my grandparent's sofa with my laptop, youtubing ways to escape and leave my job, but was getting so overwhelmed with everything I saw.

With so much content and confusion, I slammed the laptop shut and sat there with it on my knee.

I looked to my right and saw a black Sharpie marker pen on the telephone table.

(yes a real landline telephone!)

I had the urge to pick it up the pen.

And out of nowhere, I randomly started drawing on the back of my laptop.

It felt weird.

But I felt a huge weight lift while drawing for the first time since high school.

The next 2 hours I spent in full focus and in the flow of drawing...

I was so engrossed in drawing, I had no opportunity to think about all the crap going on in my life.

This was the moment I knew I wanted to be an artist.

I remember literally saying to myself when I finished the drawing...

"I'm going to become an artist and stop at nothing to make it happen, and I'm going to share my experiences with as many people as I can so they can benefit too"

From then, I made it a habit to create something new every single day.

This was 5 years ago.

Fast forward to now...

I've created hundreds of pieces of art, taken inspiration from my struggles and breakthroughs.

I now create with the purpose of sharing positive moments throughout the everyday human experience.

I started with illustrations...

Then I moved on to painting.

And everything changed again - for the better.

The flow of my new paintings really put me at ease and helped me navigate my depression.

They formed the foundation of my future life...

My better life.
